京都(Kyoto)

Kyoto was an old capital between 9th and 19th century for 1000 years. Capital is the place where the emperor lives. Now the emperor lives in Tokyo. There are so many temples and shrines in Kyoto. All the buildings are wooden. Every temples have a garden. Sometimes the garden is arranged with sands and rocks. The rock garden shows the mountains, rivers, and the sea. We call it ‘Kare-Sansui’. We meditate in front of the garden.

< 奈良(Nara)>

Nara was older capital before Kyoto in 8th century. There is the world biggest wooden building, ‘Todai-ji Temple’.  Inside of the building, there placed the great Buddha.
