Joint Security Area (JSA), KOREA

I went to South Korea for a week. The second day, I joined to a tour group to Panmungjeom(板門店).

Panmungjeom is used for an important meeting. Many guards and newsman gather here at the time. Before here was a part of DMZ (Demilitarized Zone). After the incident three soldiers were killed by North Korean here, it became JSA (Joint Security Area).

Panmungjeon is just on the demarcation line of the latitude 38°. The blue building is the Conference Building. In the building, the south and the north soldiers are standing with an alart to watch each other in a fer distance.

Visitors can cross the boundary to the north a few steps without VISA. The north soldier is posing Taekwondo.
