Hydrangea – Flower of Rainy Season

IMG_6878‘Ajisai’ (hydrangea) indicates the beginning of the rainy season. I like this flower at this season, especially at the St. Luke International Hospital Chapel. The color of the flower at the chapel is fresh deep blue, but it changes the color to pink  red according to the soil acidity.

The garden of  the chapel has many cherry trees besides hydrangea. We enjoy cherry blossom in spring. We enjoy blue and pink hydrangea with fresh green leaves in early summer. Trees give us  comfortable shades in mid summer. The leaves turn to brown and red in autumn.

We, patients in the hospital also, feel the changing four seasons in a garden. I love this small garden. This must be the gift from the God.
