Queen Kapiolani (Honolulu)

I went to Hawaii to see my best friends for two weeks. I stayed at Queen Kapiolani Hotel. I at first made the reservation for the City View Room. The room did it have Lanai (balcony). My friend negotiated something for me. At last my room was up graded to the Junior suite with lanai and great view of Diamond Head and the Ocean. I became so happy.

The hotel is in front of Queen Kapiolani Park and the Zoo. Beach is just two or three minutes walk. (One block)

I have been to Hawaii about 10 times before. Most of the time, I stayed at this area. Because it is not busy but on the Main Street of Waikiki.

When I was younger, I always went the beach for fun. Now at this time I was at the pool side of the hotel. I don’t feel like getting lots of sands on me. I was in the shade, however I took lots of suntan. People from Japan want have suntan, but a few of other people from Asia care the suntan. They keep their fair skins.

I realized when I was teen or 20s, only a few Chinese or Koreans visited there. Now so many of them stay Hawaii like we Japanese used to do. It was so called Japanese ‘Golden Week’, or the big National Holidays then. I could not meet so many Japanese people as Koreans or Chinese. Actually it’s the same as in Tokyo. They love Hawaii better than Japanese???

Whatever I could enjoy my holiday by the help of my nice friend worked to get the good room for me.
